Rev. Mini Choi
Born in Hong Kong and later moving to Vancouver during my teenage years, God has orchestrated my life miraculously. After earning my bachelor's degree at Simon Fraser University, I began a career in broadcasting in Vancouver. I went to Hong Kong and thrived in mass media, working as a radio DJ, TV host, program producer, content development strategist, and music director. My creative palette expanded to include painting, videography, and writing lyrics. I've published over three hundred song lyrics along with five books, all reflecting my Christian faith, and have been a public speaker for universities and faith communities, sharing insights and inspiration drawn from my experiences.
Feeling a deeper calling, I pursued theological studies at the University of British Columbia, including Regent College and Vancouver School of Theology, upon returning to Vancouver. While pursuing my studies, I remember the sweet memories of Michael and me attending lectures together, with our daughter, Mikayla, leaping in my tummy. I completed a Master of Arts in Theology and the Testamur prescribed by the United Church of Canada. Under God's
providence, I have journeyed through broadcasting studios, the realms of art galleries, and seminaries, each step deepening my call.
As an ordained minister in the United Church of Canada, I am grateful for the diverse experiences that have shaped my faith journey. Rooted in deep spirituality, bold discipleship, and daring justice, my ministry is a canvas blending priestly care, pastoral nurture, and prophetic calling to reflect God's love and beauty.
